personalized newborn baby gifts How to Decorate Your Baby’s Nursery for the Holidays personalized pillow case baby

Last year, I asked my then three-year-old what color she would like us to paint?her room. Her response, “Colorful.” On the one hand, trying to?explain that “colorful” was not an actual color was an exercise in?futility; but on the other hand, we were fortunate she did not respond?with a request for hot pink or neon yellow. Ultimately, we painted?her room in the latest Benjamin Moore beige and decorated with?colorful drapes, picturespersonalized newborn baby gifts, and other accessories. Little did we know we had an interior decorator in the making.

This year, that little three-year-old is now four, going on opinionated, and telling us how to decorate the Christmas tree, where to place each colorful bulb and ornament; in fact she notices with excitement and comments on most every detail of each holiday decoration we put up inside and outside the house.

The apple does not fall far from the tree, I guess, because one of my?favorite things about the holiday season is the color and warmth it brings into the?home, the front yard, the department stores, almost every where you?look. The reds, blues, greens and silver –; all the colorful accents and décor add?excitement to the holiday season. Without a lot of time or expense,?you can add a few touches to the nursery so it’s not the only room?without a little holiday cheer and color! Here are a few ideas…

Holiday Books. The classics like Rudolph the Red Nosed?Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman are not just claymation TV?shows. Accompany these classic and other holiday stories with?holiday bookends for a bright display. Start reading to your little one?early and they will surely feel your excitement.

Snow Globes. Kids love snow globes … they are cute,?entertaining, age appropriate. You could even use a small plastic one?to keep a squirming baby occupied while changing. Just be sure the?glass breakable ones are out of your little ones reach.

Splash of Color or Festive Designs. ?Think merry and bright! ?Who says holiday cheer has to be only red and green? ?Check out this joyful?chevron design for your bedding or just incorporate a few pieces. ?I love the?warm silver gray in our new Gray and White Dots and Stripes collection –; it’;s festive, yet beautiful any time of the year.

Homemade Garland. Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah?can be strung across a wall in the nursery. Let your child’s?imagination run free with cut outs of snowflakes, mittens, or?whatever they can dream up. In addition to its decorative appeal,?making garland can be a fun and engaging activity in which older?siblings, grandparents, even dad can partake and will get the whole?family in the holiday mood.

The holidays are a special time of year, even more so with small?children adding to the happiness of the season. Why not add a little?holiday color to your baby’s nursery? ?I am sure this is the tip of the iceberg for ways to bring holiday?cheer into your nursery, please share any of your thoughts or ideas!

Simple and beautiful Easter decorating ideas.

That sweet Kari and Becky over at U Create asked if I’d join in on their Homemade Ornament series this year.? Yes please!!!? For some reason, I’m so into Christmas REALLY EARLY this year.? It all started with that tree I decorated……so I guess I can blame Michael’s. ;) ? But I am going crazy that we still have another 2 weeks before Thanksgiving is here and we can officially pull out the rest of the decor.
